Tyson Mattu

District Co-Director

Hi! My name is Tyson Mattu, and I am in the tenth grade in the I.B. program at Port Moody Secondary. I live in Port coquitlam, and have been obsessed with music since i was little. I’ve been playing the bass guitar for a little under 5 years now, and have recently begun to play the standing bass. I’ve also been a member of many different choirs, totaling around 6 years of experience. Music has always been a big part of my life. I joined chords of care to make a real impact in my community while doing something that I love! When I’m not studying, you can find me listening to artists like Frank Ocean, Tyler the Creator, Daniel Caesar, and Playboi Carti.

Maelle Boyd

District Co-Director

Hi! I’m Maelle Boyd and I’m honoured to be a co-director for the Port Coquitlam district of Chords of Care. I grew up bouncing between instruments, playing a bit of piano, violin, clarinet, and guitar. I struggled to commit to one because I was so intrigued by the uniqueness of each. While I don’t play an instrument anymore, I channel my passion for music into dance. Outside of music, I am committed to getting to know a wide range of people within my community through community service and community involvement. When I don’t have a new event to organize, you can find me debating in Model UN or reading yet another novel. I truly believe Chords of Care facilitates those connections to be made and shows the power we possess when we show up for others.
